With the kids back in school, I thought I would share with you a simple little gift that I made for my son's teacher. I've seen a few of the pencil vases on Pinterest and thought I would give it a go. You will not need many supplies. Glue gun, pencils, glass (I got mine from the dollar store), ribbon (American Craft from Craft Warehouse), and flowers. Make sure you buy a glass or vase that is straight so your pencils will glue around it nicely. When you're finished gluing add ribbon and flowers. Simple and cute!

I finally have a pretty little area for all my craft supplies and goodies. Over a year ago we decided that each of our boys would get their own room, which meant we would lose our playroom/craft room. That left me without a room or organized storage for my crafts for over a year. I was making my crafts from drawers, closets and tubs all in different rooms. It made me nuts! So finally this spring I decided to reorganize one of my large closets and turned it into my craft closet. I repainted my shelves with an off white paint and the walls a pretty lavender color. Here are some of my pictures and a few new and old ideas that many crafters have used to organize their craft goodies.

Here's the right side of my closet. The very top shelf is for my camera storage. I've used silver colored curtain rods for my punches and small hooks with safety pins for my ribbon scraps. For my marker, pencil and tool storage I used recycled Crystal Light containers and metal candy tins. I'm using little milk crates that I found at Office Depot to store those cases and some punches in. All my larger stamp pads and ribbon on the spools are stored in the decorative boxes. My cheapie $29.98 cabinet I found at Walmart holds all of my sewing goodies. And best of all...check out those battery operated lights that my husband found for me at Lowes...love them!

For all my misc. elements I recycled some jars, painted the lids and my husband mounted them on a strip of wood and then to the bottom of the shelf. The green baskets are holding all my adhesives, scissors and die cuts. I'm using my mom's old jewelry box to store all of my bling. On the bottom I have storage for all my paper, stamps and misc goodies.

Check out my pretty valentines frame. I used My Mind's Eye paper State of the Heart by Jen Wilson. I added loads of ribbon, chipboard pieces, wire, jute, pearls, heart rhinestones, and punches. Then to design my redwork embroidery I used photoshop and then traced it onto my fabric with a red permanent marker. For the large rose I made a template in photoshop. I plan on posting a tutorial on this shortly. But for now, here are my pictures of it:)

I thought I would share with you the Valentine Treat Bags I made for my son to hand out to all his classmates. I knew I wanted to do treat pull bags with popcorn, but after I got to thinking about making 20 of these and all the ribbon, card stock and double sided tape...EEKS way too expensive! So...I decided to do away with the whole pull part to save on the ribbon and instead of using card stock I used plain brown lunch sacks. And since I used such a light weight paper I was able to use a glue stick to secure the paper bag together. Check out how I made these cute little bags below and have a wonderful Valentines Day!
