Sharing My New Craft Storage

I finally have a pretty little area for all my craft supplies and goodies. Over a year ago we decided that each of our boys would get their own room, which meant we would lose our playroom/craft room. That left me without a room or organized storage for my crafts for over a year. I was making my crafts from drawers, closets and tubs all in different rooms. It made me nuts! So finally this spring I decided to reorganize one of my large closets and turned it into my craft closet. I repainted my shelves with an off white paint and the walls a pretty lavender color. Here are some of my pictures and a few new and old ideas that many crafters have used to organize their craft goodies.

Here's the right side of my closet. The very top shelf is for my camera storage. I've used silver colored curtain rods for my punches and small hooks with safety pins for my ribbon scraps. For my marker, pencil and tool storage I used recycled Crystal Light containers and metal candy tins. They are covered with K&Company's Jubilee scrap kit and then labeled using SU! punches. I mostly use SU! stampin' spots because of storage reasons. I found that 12 of them store in the plastic SU! cases that I received with my wood mounted stamps. I'm using little milk crates that I found at Office Depot to store those cases and some punches in. All my larger stamp pads and ribbon on the spools are stored in the decorative boxes. My cheapie $29.98 cabinet I found at Walmart holds all of my sewing goodies. And best of all...check out those battery operated lights that my husband found for me at Lowes...love them!

Here's the top and bottom of the left side of my closet. The top shelf I've covered some boxes and use them for my scraps of paper, cards and project storage. The larger box is for my bead storage. For all my misc. elements I recycled some jars, painted the lids and my husband mounted them on a strip of wood and then to the bottom of the shelf. The green baskets are holding all my adhesives, scissors and die cuts. I'm using my mom's old jewelry box to store all of my bling. On the bottom I have storage for all my paper, stamps and misc goodies. I'm in the process of unmounting all my SU! wood stamps and will store them on the DVD storage rack. I store all my clear mount in the binder.

Jewelry box is recovered with K&Company's Jubilee. It works perfect to store all of my rhinestones, flowers and glitter in.

Marker, pencil and tool storage was made by using Crystal Light and metal candy containers. I covered them with patterned paper and then added magnets to the back of them. My husband mounted two pieces of sheet metal that I purchased at a local craft store to hold them to the wall.

Stamp pad storage and extra punches in small milk crates. Extra stamp pad storage in decorative box.

Ribbon scraps stored on small hooks, binder rings and safety pins.

Ribbon spool storage in decorative box.

Punches stored on curtain rods.
